The Vigil® is the only AAD on the market that has a readable data recorder function (black box), which is accessible to its user. The unit memorizes the last 16 minutes of freefall time (with a maximum of 16 graphs, whichever is reached first), the total time in freefall and the total number of jumps.

This accessory allows, for the first time in the history of AAD’s, the download of the jump information to the computer by the user. A new Vigil® setting can be transferred from the computer to the unit.

The IR Download Box of your “Guardian Angel” is easy to install. The Vigil® Download Software 2.34 can be installed on all computers that use Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, or MAC OS while using a Cross platform Virtual Software, thanks to the drivers included on a thumb drive. The IR Download Box is connected to the computer via a standard USB connection.

The cutting of the spare loop is initiated by a pyrotechnic charge pushing out the rounded blade. The high internal temperature melts the loop ensuring the loop is broken. The cutter is sealed protecting the parachute from damage. The device cuts loops in less than 2 milliseconds.

It has a strong and flexible cable connection with Kevlar insulation. It has no internal connections, i.e., the same cable runs directly from the activator to the detonator. The connection between the cable and the chisel is resistant to a bursting force equal to 50 kg. Replacement of the cutter is very easy.
