This shroud line cutter is currently being approved for use, and replacement of the MC-1 Mil-K-25594C, and J-Knife 823AS101-1 by the US Navy & US Air Force. The line cutter requires no modification to be installed in the current configurations of the pilot’s flight equipment. It can be stowed in the same pocket as the hook blade knife.
This type of knife was also developed for, but not limited to, use by skydivers, Fire/Rescue/EMS, police officers, prison guards, and fisherman.
The Aerojack is approximately 6 7/8″ long. It is constructed of a durable yellow plastic and has a hook at one end with two surgical stainless steel blade inserts. Two spare blades are stored in the handle.
The twin stainless steel blades offer a superior cutting surface to help slice through a multitude of webbings and suspension lines. The mouth opening is set small enough however to help prevent cutting one’s own finger while handling in an emergency situation.
